Love Food & Live Well: Book Review

When I chose to review Love Food & Live Well, I expected to get a book about diet and fitness.  Chantel Hobbs writes about so much more than physical health.  Her book is about learning who you are in Christ and how that impacts your decisions about things like food choice, body image, and loving yourself.  This is her third book and it is obvious as a reader that they build on each other to make a great spiritual and physical wellness plan for men and women.

Hobbs is well-spoken and touches the heart of her readers.  She helps look at what is going on in the soul and mind that might make weight loss and healthy living difficult.  She gives great practical suggestions about how to face difficulties in our lives that make us rely on food instead of God.

I found this book difficult to read, not because of the wording or the subject, but because I wanted to soak it all in.  This was a must - read - slowly book.  If I could tell Chantel one thing, I would like to thank her for sharing her personal story and inspiring others to achieve greatness and buy into God's deal for their lives.

I received this book free from WaterbrookMultinomah for the purpose of review.  All opinions are my own.

Review: God Loves Us So Much

This sweet children's book is actually 3 books in 1!  I was so excited to read this and share it with my boys.  I LOVE the way Lisa Tawn Bergen teaches children about serious subjects through her friend "Little Bear."  Little Bear is full of questions about life and faith.  Her family is very good at answering her questions.  Each book is a conversation between Little Bear and one of her older, wiser family members.

This collection includes: God Gave us the World which is about why bears are all different and why we should take care of the Earth, God Gave us Love tells us about what it means to love other people, and God Gave us Heaven answers tough questions about why people go to Heaven and what it might be like.

The limited edition set is beautifully written and illustrated.  The lessons are easy to understand.  I highly recommend the whole series to parents everywhere.

You can buy it on amazon.com for $13.59!

This book was provided for me free for review by Waterbrook Multnomah through their blogging for books program all opinions are my own.
